10 hours of didactic and applied training in culturally-appropriate interpreting practices and administration for psychological testing procedures.
Assessments covered in this training include a variety of standardized tests commonly used in mental health, academic, social services, & medical settings.
Didactic training includes test administration procedures, common issues and challenges, and how to engage with a psychologist or other test administrator during an assessment.
After the didactic training, participants will engage in a full, hands-up, mock-testing procedure from beginning to end, and receive direct feedback about applied skills.
Syllabus, training materials, and certification of completion provided for independent study CEUs.
Participants are required to attend all 10 hours of the training to receive completion materials.
Participants who do not complete the didactic portion of the training may not be allowed to attend hands-up portions.
Hands-up portions will be conducted in our clinical office setting located at 109 S Woodrow, Ste 200, Denton TX 76205.
Participants will be required to sign a confidentiality form prior to engaging in mock appointments, and are expected to uphold high standards of professionalism and ethical practice.
Interpreters will be recorded during mock testing procedures (with consent). Interpreters may choose to keep their recording or have it destroyed after the feedback process.
Didactic portions of the training may be recorded for training and quality assurance purposes. All participant images, voices, and identifying information will be removed prior to use of recordings for other purposes.
Direct feedback from interpreter educators will be provided within 14 days of the training to allow time for thorough review and quality feedback.
Due to the limited nature of this opportunity, refunds are not available. However, we will honor registration transfer requests received by April 20th if you register but find you are unable to attend.
