Small Bites: How to be a Good Ally
July 14, 2021 @ 10:00 am – 10:30 am CDT
This month we’re celebrating Pride! Did you know that June is Pride month to honor the 1969 Stonewall Inn Riots (also referred to as the Stonewall Uprising or the Stonewall Rebellion)? These Riots were in response to a violent police raid of a Manhattan gay bar called the Stonewall Inn, and are widely considered one of the most important events leading to the gay liberation movement and the ongoing fight for LGBTQIA rights in the United States. One year after the uprising, to mark the anniversary on June 28th, 1970, the first Pride marches took place in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
There are so many ways to be a good ally. This week’s Small Bites covers 10 ways you can support and uplift those you love and the community. Happy Summer of Pride!
