Mariana Ormeño, M.A., Practicum Intern

Mariana (she/her) was born in Dallas and her family is from Perú. Mariana has completed a Bachelor of Psychology with a secondary area of specialization in Latin American Border studies. Mariana is pursuing her master’s in Counseling Psychology at Texas Woman’s University (TWU). She strives to empower clients through a multicultural and intersectional feminist perspective. Additionally, she emphasizes mindfulness and self-compassion based practices to enhance her clients’ views of self.

Mariana prioritizes genuine and authentic connections and building trust and safety in the therapeutic space. Mariana is also bilingual, speaking Spanish and English, offering services in these languages as well. She is passionate about working with individuals of different backgrounds, people across the lifespan, and those of underserved communities.  

In her free time, Mariana loves creating all types of art. Music, painting, poetry, and any ways she can express herself that invokes joy in her life. She also loves to read, travel as much as she can, and learn about different cultures.
